What type of therapies or modalities do you use? Each person is unique, and so are their stories. Therapies are curated from a blend of modalities that Dayle has found the most powerful within the arena of holistic healing. These are predominantly bottom-up approaches to healing: somatic and neuroscience-based modalities that are powerful and can knock off YEARS of the need for ineffective therapy. Each modality has its merits based on science, as well as qualitative data collected from her many clients that can attest to the efficacy of her method. The approach is gentle, natural, easily recognized by the body, and occurs in stages. As the client progresses in their resolutions, the treatment approach also changes in order to best support the client through the healing journey and into lifestyle changes to help maintain their new way of being. These therapies include EFT/TFT (tapping), self-directed compassion therapy, auricular acupuncture, energy work, breathwork, TRE, and Therapeutic Touch. All these modalities have been backed by science for their efficacy and effectiveness in restoring balance and harmony to the body following stress or trauma.

How long will it take before I notice a difference in the way I feel and think?Everyone is different, but generally people notice a substantial difference after their first session. An estimated time frame will be given after the intake assessment is done. Most clients do regular sessions either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, from a month to several months, depending on the complexity of their case. The inner world in which I work is comprised of layers, and each session helps resolve a specific layer. Once resolved, these issues are no longer problematic.

Are there any side effects of doing this type of healing? The methods used in the integrative program are all processes that are natural to the physiology of the human body. Your body and brain will recognize the 'language' or methodology as being aligned with its own inner wisdom. Having said that, there may be some emotion that is released during sessions but they tend to dissipate quickly and integration is always done to ensure you are grounded and feeling good before the session is ended for the day. None of the methods used will harm you physiologically, physically or psychologically in any way.

What kinds of trauma do you work with?Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes. There are Big-T traumas such as life-altering events (war, poverty, violence), diagnoses, accidents, abuses, and loss of loved ones, and then the Little-T ones that we navigate on a daily basis: loss of relationship, bullying, racism, rejection, prejudice, emotional abuse. This can be encapsulated in diagnoses such as PTSD/c-PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses. It can also include trauma from violence, war, sexual assaults/rape, and diagnoses of Cancer, auto-immune disorders and other forms of disease. The word "trauma" is a broad term that is meant to encapsulate anything in life that is experienced that holds a strong emotional charge or experience, and perhaps keeps you stuck in repeating patterns of behavior, or in a spiral of disease. Trauma is anything that activates our Fight, Flight, Freeze or Feign/Fawn response in the body, which can remain 'stuck' and wreak havoc in our lives. The foundation of the healing is the same, with the end-goal of closing the trauma-loop so that the body can heal from all traumas or emotional events.

Where are your sessions held? All the work can be done virtually. For those local to my region, I will also work with people in-person, either individually or in groups. Virtual sessions means I can work with clients from all over the world, in your applicable time zone. Typically I use Zoom as it provides the option to record the sessions so that you can have the recording to listen to/watch again for ongoing support. You do not have to have a paid Zoom account to participate; you will only need to have the Zoom app downloaded. If this is not possible, there are other options available such as Google Meet, Facetime, Facebook Messenger Video, or WhatsApp. If Zoom is not possible, there are other options available such as Google Meet, Facetime, or WhatsApp.

What kind of equipment will I need in order to do this type of healing work?A willingness to be vulnerable and 'show up' for the work is a good place to start :) I have a very good reputation for being able to hold gentle, compassionate space for people to do just that. Here are some general guidelines: 1. You will require a good computer connection in order to do the virtual appointments. It is not recommended to use a phone unless it is your only option. Camera and microphone will be necessary. 2. Be sure you are in a quiet, private space that will allow for concentration, relaxation and confidentiality. Set the kids up to keep them busy elsewhere, make sure your pets won't bother or interrupt you, and be in comfortable clothing. 3. Access to the floor, and a yoga mat or folded blanket, and where you can position your computer camera to be positioned so I can see you on the floor may be necessary for somatic work. This will be discussed prior to the appointment to give you ample time to set yourself up accordingly.

I have other people in my life that could benefit from this work too. Can they attend my sessions with me?No, unfortunately, they will need to arrange to do an intake with me separately, as their health history will need to be taken, and a treatment plan curated accordingly. Second to this is confidentiality issues. It is not appropriate to have another person present during a session.
-
What age groups do you work with?I can work with children over the age of 12 and up, and of course adults. Children must be able to identify their feelings and emotions easily, thus the limitation of age 12 is recommended.
-
I would like my child to work with you. Can I attend with them?If your child is over the age of 12, they may participate in the same integrative healing programs, tailored to their level of development. Attendance with your child is discouraged as it can inhibit the child from freely sharing and experiencing the integrative methods in a therapeutic manner. Confidentiality is taken very seriously and the content/experiences from your child's sessions will not be shared with you. Your child may choose to share on their own, but it is highly discouraged to badger them or ask them questions about their therapy. Instead, just be willing to listen without judgment if they choose to share their experience with you.

I am not wanting to continue my sessions after I purchased a package. What can I do?Please be aware that packages are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Be sure to really think about whether you want to commit to doing the work before purchasing a package. Together, we will discuss your estimated length of sessions during our initial 30 min Discovery Call, so you can make an informed decision as to whether you want to purchase a package or pay by session only.
-
Will I be re-traumatized during your process? No, you will not be re-traumatized. We will be working with the existing emotions and felt-senses in the body, and if you aren't able to feel or sense in the body, we will work on getting you fully embodied before we start the work. There is no need for you to 'tell your story' unless you feel you would like to. I will always ask your permission to get more details only for the purpose of the treatment session. It is up to you whether you choose to share or not. The process I use allows you to reprocess the emotions that are attached to the event. Once we process those, the event remains only as a memory with no emotional charge attached. They can then be 'laid to rest' in a box in the attic, so to speak. The emotional charge will no longer be felt.

Is my information kept confidential?Absolutely! As a professional, I am bound by the Federal HIPAA laws and the Medical Privacy Act. You may read more about your rights and my duty to accommodate confidentiality at this link https://vsee.com/blog/hipaa-canada-health-information-privacy/

If I give you permission to use my personal records from working with you as a Case Study, what happens to my information?Case Studies are a wonderful way for me, as a professional, to collect qualitative data to prove the efficacy of the work I do. Case studies follow a protocol of expectations set out by the Psychology disciplines, and include health history and background information such as age, gender, employment status, physical and mental health status, family health history, social and relationship status, challenges in life, life goals, current coping skills (both effective and ineffective), and personal strengths and weaknesses. I then collect information gleaned from our sessions together (improvements, changes, challenges, etc) and the plan that we co-create together to address these. The last part of the case study is the Discussion where I speak to the study itself, and identify any limitations, critical factors for other professionals to consider when they read my report, and how my findings support my work. I may also make note of any further research I may want to do as a result of the outcomes of this study. Names are NOT used in case studies when presenting data to other professionals. You will remain anonymous.

What is TRE, and how does it help me?TRE is an acronym that represents Trauma Releasing Exercises, a modality developed by Dr. David Berceli after years of experiences studying and working with traumatized individuals around the world. It involves a series of gentle stretching and fatiguing exercises that help stimulate the body's natural tremor response which discharges stress and trauma imprints that are stored in the fascia and musculature of the body. It is a wonderful way to naturally re-set the body's nervous system into a place of rest and digest, rather than an ever-looping trauma response that can happen when operating in a heightened stress response for long periods of time. Deep healing is then able to happen as the body regains a state of balance within. This is experienced as a deep release of tension, stress, and sometimes emotions.

What happens if I purchase a package and don't use it all?Packages are not refundable, and are non-transferrable. Please be prepared to utilize the sessions you have paid for. Sessions do not expire, so if you feel you want to take a break for a while and use it at a later date, you can do that as well.
-
Can I purchase sessions for someone I care about?Yes! I can do up an electronic gift certificate that you can print off or send to them electronically that will show the gift from you. Gift certificates must be used within a year. They are not transferrable and must be used by the person named at time of purchase. Gift certificates are non-refundable.
