Meet the founder
Brave Steps Integrative Wellness provides virtual psychiatric nursing and personalized case management for adults navigating mental health challenges, trauma recovery, and life after addiction treatment.
When managing your well-being feels overwhelming, having consistent professional support can help you understand your needs, connect with appropriate resources, and take manageable steps toward greater stability.
Founded by Dayle Lauren, a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with extensive experience in mental health and substance use care, Brave Steps combines compassionate therapeutic support with practical care planning and coordination. Dayle works collaboratively with you to identify your goals, develop coping strategies, navigate services, and coordinate with your existing care providers, with your consent.
Whether you are living with anxiety, depression, trauma-related distress, burnout, or the challenges of recovery, your care is shaped around your circumstances and what matters most to you.
Guided by the BRAVE framework, Dayle’s approach helps you recognize patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, build self-understanding, and bring new skills into everyday life. Care considers your emotional and physical well-being alongside your relationships, environment, and personal values.
Through ongoing virtual appointments and coordinated follow-up, Brave Steps offers continuity and a clear, supportive pathway toward greater confidence, independence, and sustainable well-being.

The BRAVE Framework

BRAVE, an acronym for Being, Regulation, Awareness, Validation, and Embodiment.
It describes how we work together supportively: noticing your responses, building skills to manage distress, understanding patterns, meeting your experiences with compassion, and putting new ways of responding into practice.
These five elements run throughout the six connected tenets of the Brave Steps journey.
In virtual psychiatric nursing and case management, BRAVE connects this personal work with practical recovery transition support. As you move from addiction or mental health treatment into everyday life, we develop an individualized care plan, review progress through scheduled appointments, and coordinate with other providers with your consent.
The focus is continuity, growing confidence, and skills you can carry into daily living, and are built around the 6 Tenets of the Brave Steps framework:
01
Self Compassion
Awareness and validation of your experiences as a whole being helps you understand your experiences with less shame and greater kindness, including when recovery brings setbacks.
03
Emotional States
Awareness and regulation support you in understanding triggers, managing distress, and responding to emotions and cravings with greater choice.
05
Integration
Embodiment means turning insight into action through daily routines, coping skills, relapse-prevention planning, and manageable steps toward your goals.
02
Body Awareness
Recognizing physical cues helps you notice stress, identify your needs, and practise grounding and regulation skills.
04
Connection
Validation supports trust and belonging. Together, we strengthen supportive relationships, healthy boundaries, and connections with your care team and community.
06
Existential
Exploring your identity, values, beliefs, and sense of purpose helps you shape a meaningful life as recovery unfolds.
